Description

This all started with that I saw a base here at dA where two people sat back to back sharing a scarf. All I could think of was my OC Atsuko and the way Obito's scarf in a way connect them to each other. For a while I planned to use the base as my reference, but then I was struck with this idea that the final product is showing up there.

Notice how there's a time skip between the part where Obito wears the scarf and the part where Atsuko wears it. Obito wore it before taking on the Akatsuki cloak, Atsuko wears it after getting her uniform at the start of the ninja war.

Also notice how it is Atsuko's face that is covered, while Obito's is showing. I didn't know why I did that as I drew, but now I feel that it is somewhat symbolic. obito always covered his face as Tobi and Atsuko have always shown hers.

Let's connect this with the time skip. Obito used to always cover his face and the scarf was his, Atsuko used to show her face when she didn't own the scarf. After the time skip, Obito is showing his face and doesn't have the scarf anymore, the scarf is Atsuko's and she is now covering hers.

See the pattern ?
When one shows their face, the other hides their's.

So why did I draw out his face while he has the scarf ? Perhaps in my mind I thought that one of them had to show their face, like we talked about above. Who knows.

It was a long, LONG, time ago I drew anything without using any reference what so ever. This is straight out of my head, hopefully it will show my weaknesses better. So do point out things that disturbs your eye.

Again the coloring is much better, the colours are way more vibrant that your earliest works, remember the Tobi picture?

Wasn't that your first work with watercolor pencils? Big improvement! However I feel that the colours are a little too heavy here, the lineart almost dissapears.
