Chapter 1 The new deal

I folded the last shirt and pushed it gently down in the box before lifting it up and putting it among the other boxes. Why I'm packing you might ask, well I'm not actually packing. I'm preparing to flee from my home land, everyone in Country of Frost have to escape the coming war. I stretched my back and looked over at the boxes, I'm not really going to bring them with me you see. A fairly small bag lays by the door filled with my necessities, that is all I'm actually going to bring with me. The boxes was only incase I'll ever come back here, then maybe they would still be intact you know?

Konan came by just a few days ago. She said that she had something important to tell me and she wasn't really gentle when she told me that Madara, the person that started the war, was Tobi. She said that she was aware that he would come after Pein and her, and warned me that he might come after me as well. When I asked why he would do that, the answer was simple, I knew too much. In order to protect me, I think, Konan told me that my deal with Akatsuki was over and as my last order I had to get out of my home before Madara would decide to come after me.

I was to put it easy, surprised by what she told me. But I couldn't leave at that time, my patients needed me, and I still can't leave, my block isn't really going to be evacuated until tomorrow. We are going to be guided by some ninjas to the place we will be staying during the war. Don't get me wrong though, I fear that he will come after me, I truly do.

I went back to the closet and checked every shelf again, just in case I forgot something in there. Realizing it was empty I closed the doors firmly and went into the bigger room again. 'That seems to be everything.' I thought and was just about to walk to the door when I heard it. An almost bubbling, swishing sound, right there behind me. I felt the panic rush up my neck, he was here. He actually came.
"Atsuko-chan!" he called out, almost fell over nothing, tossed his arms around and pointed to his mask, "Look, I got a new mask! You see, the other one broke!"
I completely froze when I heard him coming closer behind me.
"Hi Atsuko." He whispered and started to lean over with open arms and just when his arms was about to close around me, I reacted and pushed him away.
"Atsuko-chan? Is something wrong?" he looked puzzled.
"Oh, skip the bullshit already!" I yelled turning over to face him, "Konan was here and she told me everything! My deal with Akatsuki is over! Did you seriously think you just could walk in here like nothing ever happened?!"
At first he jerked his body back by my sudden rage burst, then his whole body language changed and he laughed at me with an unfamiliar voice.
"I'm not surprised. But I must admit, getting to tell you the secret myself would have been rather amusing.."  he crossed his arms, slightly leaning his head to his right before he continued, "It's rather interesting that you are still here though, if you knew that I would come."
I stared blankly at him, this other voice startled me greatly. Since none of us said anything my thoughts started to wander away about whether he just was talented with his voice, or if he used some sort of transformation jutsu to change it. Madara slowly let himself fall against one of my walls and leaned heavily against it.
"Atsuko."
I twitched and turned my attention back at him.
"Are you awake?" he said mockingly.
"Very much so, thank you."
He puffed in amusement.
"I'd like to make a new deal with you. Your Anteishita Enkotsu might still be useful to me, but you are going to have to come with me to my base. It would be too much of a hassle to find you if you're needed otherwise."
"Uhuh, and let me guess, if I refuse you are going to kill me, right?"
He snickered.
"No. If you don't want to join me, you may evacuate with the others. I doubt you'll try to rat me out, and after all, who would think you were involved anyway?"
I squinted my eyes.
"Is that a complement or an insult?"
"Take it as you wish."
"Well, what do I gain from this 'deal'?" I asked, studying his every movement when he decided to stand up straight again.
"A warm bed. Clean clothes." he glanced over to my boxes, "A place to keep your stuff."
"All I need is in that bag right over there." I said and pointed at the small bag still standing by the door.
"Is that a yes?" he said and reached out his hand for me. The sudden eye contact made me look away for a moment.
"Yes, I accept your offer." I met his gaze again and tried to sound confident, but when I took his hand I felt that my whole body was shaking. I didn't get more time to think before he swirled me up with his teleportation jutsu.
